Bobby Casteel, 2022
Bobby Casteel was a member of the graduating class of 1970.. He was an outstanding player on the football team for four years. As a sophomore, he was named All Mid-State Honorable Mention. He was a 3-year starter as quarterback. He helped lead his team to win the 1969 Red River Conference Championship. He was named to the All-Conference Team and led his team to the Crockett Bowl.
In 1970, Bobby was named Most Valuable Player in basketball and helped his team to a win in the district tournament where he scored 18 points. Bobby was also a part of the GHS baseball team where he was named All-District in 1970. The highlight of his playing career was being named All Mid-State Honorable Mention. He thoroughly enjoyed the copetition and playing with his teammates. Unfortunately, Bobby passed away in 2014. |
