Clint Charles, 2006
Clint was a member of the State Tournament third-place basketball team of 1929-30.
After graduating from GHS, Clint went on to Middle Tennessee State where he played football all four years and basketball one year. As best as can be determined, after graduating from college, Clint moved to the Atlanta area where he was a teacher and coach. |
Here's what the 1934 MTSU Yearbook had to say about Clint's football career:
CLINTON "WARPEE" CHARLES "The big Injun from Greenbrier -- a valuable man on offense and defense alike. Although he did drop a pass over the goal line in a game which ended 0 to 0, he was always in there fightin'.! "Warp" had wound up his string of football service and he will be missed in years to come." |
