Beth Bellar Rodeffer, 2020
A three-sport athlete, Beth played volleyball, basketball and softball. She graduated in 1982.
In basketball, as a freshman she received All-District honors, Her sophomore year, she was a part of the 79-80 undefeated regular season team that was ranked #1 in the state. During her junior season, she was again named to the All-District Team, as well as being named the GHS Team MVP. She received numerous accolades her senior season as she served as team captain: District 8-AA All Tournament Team, Vol State All-Conference, All-District, All-Region, and again GHS Team MVP. During her senior year in softball, she served as team captain. She was named Team MVP and was named to the All-District Team. In volleyball, she also served as team captain her senior year. During that year, she was named the Team MVP, as well as All-District and All-Region. In 1981, Beth was selected as a member of the Memphis US Volleyball Association Junior Olympic Team. Beth was the first female to play three sports all four years of high school and the first GHS athlete to be awarded a 4-year scholarship to an SEC University. Beth stated that she enjoyed working together with all her teammates over the years to achieve their goals. |
