Lucy Suter (Garrett), 2005

Lucy began participating in sports at GHS in the 8th grade.  From 1938-42 she played basketball and softball and ran track. She was one of the starting player on the basketball team her 8th grade year, in addition to the four following years. She served as basketball captain one year and co-captain another. Lucy was a forward and a prolific scorer. She said that many of her baskets would have been three-pointers today.

After high school, Lucy played 3 years for Nashville Business College.

Following college, Lucy worked for 30 years as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Robertson County Board of Education.
