Betty Jo Wells, 2025

Ms. Wells was known to so many former students as "Ms. JoJo." She was a longtime supporter and fan of so many former student athletes and teams at GHS. Ms. Wells was a substitute teacher for 34 years at GHS. She also served as a Greenbrier City Judge.

​Ms Wells was well known for the SHOE THAT FLEW. During the 1983-84 Boys Basketball season as the team had their run to the STATE TOURNAMENT, Ms. Wells didn’t like one of the referee's calls at a game so she took off her shoe and threw it at the official during the game That shoe is on display in the trophy case at GHS.
