Mike Clark, 2020
Mike was a member of the graduating class of 1982. He was a member of the basketball and football teams for 4 years.
During his football career, he was a starter at fullback and defensive end. As a sophomore he was selected Honorable Mention All-Mid-State. As a junior he was selected as All-District 8-AA, 1st Team All-Class AA, All Mid-State Honorable Mention, and Most Valuable Offensive player for GHS. As a senior he was co-captain and earned All-District, All Mid-State 1st Team, MVP of the GHS Bobcat Football team, and the 1st player to be voted on the UPI All-State All Classification Team. As a member of the GHS Basketball team he was a 3-year starter and was selected Vol-State All-Tournament, VSBC All-Conference, and MVP of his team as a sophomore. As a junior he was selected VSBC All-Tournament, District 8-AA All-Tournament, Region 4-AA All-Tournament, District 8-AA MVP, Vol State All-Conference and MVP, and Co-MVP of the GHS Bobcats. As a senior he received All-District, Vol State All-Conference, and Offensive MVP for the Bobcats. Mike was also the first ever athlete to earn all Mid-State in football and basketball in the same year. He currently holds the school record for career points in basketball with 1,549. Mike helped lead his basketball team 60 victories and two sub-state appearances. Mike Clark considers being the career points leaders and receiving a full scholarship to MTSU as the highlight of his playing career and he enjoyed the lifetime memories and friendships that he accumulated with his teammates at Greenbrier. Mike received a scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University where he was a four-year starter as tight end for the Blue Raiders. His senior year he was All-OVC and the Blue Raiders went undefeated and won the Ohio Valley Conference championship. |
