Mitzi Williams Grogan, 2019
Mitzi is a 1980 graduate of GHS. She played basketball all 4 years in high school and volleyball for 3.

Mitzi was a member of the inaugural volleyball team at GHS in 1977-78. That team won the District Tournament and she was selected to the All-Tournament team. Her junior year, the team finished with a record of 32-4, won the District Tournament, and she was again selected to the All-Tournament team. In her senior year, the team made its first appearance in the State Tournament in school history and she was named to the All-District team.
She received at athletic scholarship in volleyball to attend Middle Tennessee State University, where her senior year she was named All-OVC Student Athlete of the Year.
After college, Mitzi returned to GHS as head volleyball coach for the next 12 years.During her tenure, they won 6 District Championships, 1 sectional championship, and in 2000 her team won the the State Championship while piling up a school-record 39 wins.
She served as an assistant principal at GHS from 2005-2008 and principal at Greenbrier Elementary from 2008-2014.
