Jerry Pearson, 2016

Picture
Coach Jerry Pearson served as football coach from 1966-68 and again from 1974-78, compiling a won/loss record of 52-29. Highlights during this time included winning the Red River Valley Conference championship in 1967, the Crockett Bowl in 1968, the Mid-State Bowl in 1976 and being the first GHS football team to go to the playoffs in 1977. His favorite part of coaching was the rapport he had with his students. Coach Pearson enjoyed the complete support of the community, players, faculty members and administration during two different decades.

Jerry played high school football at Springfield High School, under coach Boyce Smith. Following his graduation, he played football and baseball at Middle Tennessee State University.
